“Okay, but he is deaf in one ear and has superhuman hearing in the other, so if you yell, it will make him run in circles”
“We have no manager… just a council of the elders that meets every full moon”
“Our manager has been dead for twenty years. You can only talk to him through a mailbox at his lake house”
“Our manager is currently in county jail for assaulting a customer; but, the store owner just came back completely rehabilitated”
“Sure, you talk to my manager, then I talk to your manager… then we both hire lawyers and end up that much poorer. Can’t we just exchange hugs and swear to try to get along?”
“Okay, but he only speaks Farsi and only understands Urdu; plus, if you yell at him, he runs around in circles”
“You’ll have to wait. He’s being devastatingly sarcastic to another customer right now”
“I will. But, he’s not going to like being summoned from the depths of Hell just to talk about my attitude”
“I am the manager. I disguise myself as a simple store clerk so that my underlings may express their opinions openly and so that I might learn of their grievances”
“If this is about the ring of plain and elderly prostitutes that he is overseeing, I can tell you that he’s not currently hiring”
I wish he was my manager 😊

When I was a fresh adult I was promoted to a manager at the Arby’s I had been working at for years. One day, a very angry lady came in demanding to speak to a manager so I offered my services. When she complained the food had sent her son to the hospital, all I could say was, “You are going to need a way better manager than me” and so I left to find her one.

And, never came back, right?

Not until the situation was “handled” and the lady left 🙂

Urdu seems to be the language of choice for most customer service workers.

When I worked in retail, I’d just pretend another sales person was “the manager” and I’d do the same for him. So ridiculous, but it amused us!!!

I worked retail but no one ever asked for my manager. It was KMart, so one employee was pretty much as good as any other…

Your manager sounds pretty cool. Can I see him?
