If lightning is in the area while you are outside, get really low. If you get really high, you might get struck, but if you’re really really high, you might not notice.
If you are out on a soccer field, find shelter immediately. If you are out on a golf course, you can finish your hole.
If lightning strikes very near you, the correct thing to say afterwards is, “Missed me, again”
Lightning never strikes twice in the same place because the place that was struck is usually burned down.
Just in case you want so much to avoid lightning, you move to Jupiter, well, they’ve got lightning there, too. Many times more powerful than on Earth. But, you’ll weigh so much on Jupiter, I think being vaporized by a lightning strike will be a relief.
Lightning was the preferred weapon of Zeus, whose pet peeves seemed to have been tall trees and lightning rods.

I used to be terrified of storms. Now, when a flash of lightning and a burst of thunder goes off, I’m the one in the room that DOESN’T flinch.

We are on day three of no power. And this morning there was another thunderstorm so I doubt they were outside working to repair it. The “missed me” one made me smile 🙂 .

I’m pretty calm during thunderstorms so, if we get a nearby strike, I like to say, “You’ll have to do better than THAT!”
