Something I’m Working On Pt 3

An Arizona man died this week after taking a form of chloroquine used in aquariums to treat Covid. Chloroquine phosphate, used to treat aquarium fish for parasites, is NOT the same as hydroxychloroquine in that they contain different atoms and spell their names differently. Chloroquine was discovered in 1934 by Hans Andersag, who noticed that Indigenous Peruvians used it for fever and other symptoms. Sadly, the backward people of that area didn’t have the skills to name the drug or take credit for it.

I know the word “parasites” is a scary one, but parasites aren’t all that bad. I owned a pet tapeworm for several months and it turned out to be one of the best pets I ever had. I named mine, “Skinny Pete” although “Slim” and “Bruce Willis” were also considered. And, I didn’t even need to BUY Skinny Pete, I just ate raw pork until my stomach started cramping. Since he lived in my stomach, I didn’t need a litter box. Although, if I reflect on that fact too much, I get a little nauseous.Skinny Pete wouldn’t chase a ball but, if I swallowed an anti-depressant with enough force, it might chase it around my stomach a bit.

But, Covid ISN’T a parasite. Taking hydroxychloroquine for Covid is like taking Demerol for the common cold… or for a niacin-deficiency… or as an anti-depressant to help you get over the damage you caused while taking Demerol for the common cold. Honestly, I don’t know what it is about Demerol, but I JUST CAN’T STOP TAKING THEM. Almost as if they are addictive…

With all the Covid 19 going around, I’ve managed to stay pretty healthy; however, lately I’ve been feeling as if I might be a carrier. I just haven’t felt myself; plus, the other morning, I woke up in the ocean with fighter planes landing on my deck. I called work and told them about my symptoms and asked if I could be tested… and I was but not for Covid. I tested positive for Demerol; but, my doctor, for a little extra fee, gave me a prescription for it. I don’t mind paying a little extra because I know he’s working his way through medical school…

Today is Mother’s Day in Slovenia; so, if your mom can speak some Slovene, she is welcome to come to the border and pick up her gift basket. Freedom Day in Belarus was canceled due to dangerous levels of irony.
