Variations on a Theme

Quitting smoking is the hardest thing I’ll ever have to do over and over…

Her goodbye note was the hardest thing I’d ever have to read… mostly because it was written in Korean…

Not taking responsibility is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to blame on someone else…

This is the hardest letter I’ve ever had to write… because I can’t find a pen so I have to use lemon juice, a chopstick and the burner on the stove…

The hardest thing I’ve ever had to carry was a simple leather saddle… mostly because I had forgotten to take the horse off…

Applying makeup to the bodies of nude models is the hardest job I’d ever do… for free, I mean…

The hardest part of watching your kids go off to college is knowing that, if you move to another state, they’ll probably find you, anyway…

The waiting is the hardest part… especially if you are sitting in battery acid or your hat’s on fire…

The hardest part of having kids is juggling work and a family… well, actually the hardest part is juggling work, family, a chainsaw and an apple…

Irritable Bowel is one of the hardest conditions to deal with… but, Skeptical Bowel is no picnic, either…

    1. I’m a man who keeps his promises. My ex wanted me to quit smoking; so, I told her that I would stop when she became pregnant, knowing full well we weren’t even trying for a child. I would quit for a few months, then pick an argument with her to have an excuse to start smoking again. One day, she announced that she was pregnant. I was VERY resentful because I’d have to quit for real.

      It wasn’t easy…
