Random Thoughts: Movie Edition

I was watching an old movie with a girlfriend but she talked through most of it, asking, “Why did he do that?” and “What did she say?” and “Why did she say that?”. I finally lost my temper and yelled, “It’s because he’s got the mummified corpse of his mother on a chair in his attic!!!”. I felt bad that I lost my temper but, what was worse was the movie turned out to be Miracle on 34th Street

It might be the pessimism talking but I strongly suspect Marlon Brando isn’t coming back.

I saw the movie Cat People the other day and I was disappointed to see that it wasn’t about socially maladjusted shut-ins.

There were a lot of nudist camp movies made in the 1950’s and 1960’s covering a wide variety of topics and themes including serial killers, killer gorillas and space travel in the not-too-distant future; but, one subject remains unaddressed: Porcupine wrestling…

Unlike other actresses, Jennifer Garner can only reproduce by firing out a cloud of spores into a mob of A-List actors.

Kurosawa’s The Seven Samurai is considered a masterpiece by film scholars the world over. In its three-plus hour run time, it addresses birth and death and starvation and plenty and gain and loss… every aspect of the human condition. I considered it one of my top five movies… until last year when I felt compelled to replace it with Sonic the Hedgehog: Part 2
