Why I’m Sad

I’m sad when a tv series that I like ends because I can no longer follow the made up events in the lives of people who don’t exist.

I get sad when one of my favorite actors or actresses dies. Personally, I always felt as if Don Knotts and Tim Conway had one more epic cinematic masterpiece left in them…

I get sad when I hear a song that reminds me of a time when I was listening to a sad song.  “Brick House” by the Commodores always reminds me of “Angie” by the Rolling Stones.  “Angie” reminds me of my pet boxer who bit a girl named “Angie”, once.

I get sad when I see people who work hard all of their lives but never get ahead… unless they are house painters because screw them!

I get sad when I see all the suffering in the world when I know it could all be ended if we’d just start a nuclear war with Russia or China.

I get sad when I think about my old girlfriend… She was ninety… the oldest girlfriend I ever had…

I get sad when I realize that I cannot change the past because the laws of physics indicate that is impossible.  Then, I get sad when I think about physics and how much better my grades would’ve been had I learned mathematics first…

I get sad when I say “goodbye” to someone I love, “hello” to someone I hate or “could I use your ketchup?” to someone who REALLY wants to talk about her grandchildren.

I get sad when I see a sick child… unless it’s mumps because THAT IS HILARIOUS…

I get sad when I realize what kind of a monster I’ve become.  I wanted to be a werewolf, but instead I’m more of a Frankenstein… mostly due to my posture and my habit of throwing little girls into ponds…

I get sad when I see homeless people, knowing that there are people who have more money than they need and I want those rich people to be homeless but then I realize that if I saw those rich homeless people, I’d be sad.

I get sad when I see unwanted dogs roaming the streets when their only crime is being unwanted and maybe arson.

      1. Reminds me of the sadness I was going to post in my own blog soon–most people have better relationships with fictional tv characters than they do with their own neighbors. I’ll let you know when I swing around to that thought. Now that, is sad, IMO…and points to our extreme isolation as human beings. Bring back the tribe and the dances around the fire I say!
